Today the whole world is in great problem. It is a situation that none of the people can help any one physically. It's just a virtual support that a person can give to one another. 
But there is one thing that should be done physically. And that is plasma donation. 
When this plasma donation test got succeeded. There was a great relief in the heart of the people. Not a solution to the problem but atleast there was small cure which got succeeded.
But still there are alot of question regarding this plasma donation. I hope this blog may clear your some doubt about plasma donation.

What is plasma?
Blood plasma is a yellowish liquid component of blood that holds the blood cells of whole blood in suspension. It is the liquid part of the blood that carries cells and proteins throughout the body. It makes up about 55 percent of the body's total blood volume. it helps in clotting and also give immunity to the body. whenever we get infected its the plasma who prepared antibodies to fight against a particular disease.

What is convalescent plasma?
Convalescent plasma is the liquid part of blood that is collected from patients who have
recovered from the novel coronavirus disease COVID-19. COVID-19 patients develop antibodies in the blood against the virus.

who all are eligible to donate plasma?
 Plasma donors should be at least 18 years old and less than 65 years.
Plasma donors should have tested positive for COVID 19
Plasma donors should have recovered from symptoms of COVID like fever, cough, cold, 
breathing difficulties
Plasma donors should have recovered from COVID symptoms 14 days prior.
Plasma donors should test non-reactive for transmissible viruses including HIV and Hepatitis
Plasma donors should test negative for endemic infectious diseases like Tuberculosis or 
Malaria. They should not have blood pressure or diabeties.
Where can you donate plasma?
so you can go to any near by hospital which has the facility to collect the plasma. Because plasma collection is not easy like the blood donation camp. There is alot of struggle in this work because in this first your blood is collected than there is a different machine which seperate your RBCs and WBCs from ur blood and what remain is plasma. Now the seperate RBCs and WBCs are again transvered to your blood again.

How long it takes to collect plasma?
it usually take 40 to 45 mins to collect plasma but before collecting plasma there are some test that doctors does before collecting it. which mays take atleat 2 hours.

How much plasma do we donate?
From an individual peoplde they collect around 600ml of plasma.

How many lives can we save ?
 Each patient is given around 200ml of plasma for the treatment. So we can save around three lives.

Do we feel any dizziness after after plasma donation?
No we don't feel any dizzness after plasma donation.

What all reports are required from local authorities / hospital to ensure that the person 
can be a potential Plasma Donor ?
Covid-19 positive report (RT-PCR test or Rapid antigen test).
According to ICMR guidelines, the level of IgG antibodies against Covid-19 is also required:
1:640 (ELISA test)
or
13 AU/mL (CLIA test)
or
Neutralising antibody of 1:80.

Can a person who has been vaccinated, donate their plasma?
No. Not until 28 days from the second dose.

After what interval can he/she donated plasma second time?
The interval between two plasma donation should be 14 days for amost 3 months. So he can donate plasma 3 to 4 times.

Being a citizen of India all the covid patients who has recovered from this situation should donate plasma. So that we can get reed of this situation as soon as possible.
